Arbiters of Hunger

". . .nnnNnNuUUu.. gAAHHHHHH!"

Creatures that have seemingly existed as long as spiritually-adept have. They have only appeared in Zenchou City and on very rare occasion, in other circulations of spiritualists across the world. Hungry and seemingly never cognizant of... anything, they try to (mostly) harmless gnaw on whatever bears reishi, and are actively drawn to it in any facet. In terms of appearance they can vary anywhere between a distorted or mutated-looking form of a common animal differing in appearance and size, all the way to ghastly entities unrecognizable to the common man. Some can showcase more, slightly human forms, but never quite humanoid. They are notably comprised entirely of reishi.

These are things that should not exist.

Gluttonous Mistakes

Devils show little understanding of how to utilize reiryoku or reishi in general. They are more reactive in their use of it than any other race, only demonstrating their reiryoku when experiencing a large amount of emotion. This is usually an unconscious reaction, and shows itself in the form of wanton, aimless bursts of reiryoku. Precision is not something they know; if they want to attack something (normally as a defensive or ravenous measure) they'll do it with no regard for their surroundings. They gain power & consciousness through the consumption of things with reishi -- as without it, they are beings with next to no sentience aside from carnivorous consumption. On the contrary, their hunger only grows the more conscious they become.

As they gradually accrue sentience, Devils become more aware of their forms. They're usually able to alter it slightly to suit more of the uncanny, especially relative to what media can express, and can scale larger than originally. Their reiryoku is notably - a blight to kishi when exuded by them actively, influencing the environment around them with the imposition of uncanny imagery and influences on physical matter, be it saturating/darkening the vicinity or even modifying the appearance of things such as buildings, trees & so forth.

The epitome of their growth, at least from what has been observed so far - is when they've consumed enough reishi to form a physical, kishi-comprised state of being for themselves.

Affinity

Bare in their expression of it. They have shown the capacity to exude specific attributes whenever they spill their reiryoku out around them, suggesting that they do possess an affinity. This can spread into their general flow of reiryoku out from themselves, and their influence on kishi around them.

Specialization

Unapparent.
