Denizens of Zenchou follow the Japanese standard of using 'yen' as their currency of choice, bearing no actual 'trade' or unique things of that nature. They buy and barter items with the national coin. While a spare few may possess a different sort, Gildsheen, it is noted to bear no monetary value.

It is unknown how many wealthy or 'well-off' people are within the city. Most of this knowledge is left out of the public eye, though many suspect there is plenty of underground association circulating yen.

Income

Yen is not difficult to come by for spiritual adepts, though an actual job is. Due to the sheer amount of people who can proficiently carry out a regular employment position and fulfill what's expected of them (and beyond that), odd jobs, remote jobs, and other background hustles are far easier to pursue. It isn't uncommon for a spiritual adept to even go beyond the city to prefectures for work. There is also always the route of legality - which involves working with investigative and reporting spiritual findings to them, or illegality, wherein one simply preys upon the mundane or their fellows. Some even choose to engage in crafts and specialties - which pave the way for owning one's own company. You can even be an investor - bitcoin's on the rise in 2010 after all.

Underground

As previously suggested, there are underground sources of income & affiliation. Sure, you'll need to encounter the right people and get your hands dirty, but it pays off. Or does it?
