Relations & Dangers

Safety
This short guide covers the basics on how to avoid situations where death's imminent, and knowing when you're going to be at risk going somewhere.Relationships
This rating system is your 'Relation Meter', and something you'll have seen on family & faction relations for their threads.
On a meter from 'Favored' to 'Unfavored', it goes:
(MAX) > (VERY HIGH) > (High) > (Like) > (Neutral) > (Dislike) > (Hate) > (HATE)
You can influence this through your worldly actions & interactions with the affiliation in question, or those that they highly like (or dislike). For simplicity's sake, affiliations they minorly associate with will not weigh into this so long as you aren't doing anything excessive or grievous. For those of you involved with these worldly parties, it is all up to your character's disposition to determine how they interact with varying levels. But be warned - event characters are privy to the same; an excessively aggressive character is far more liable to act abrasive & with lethal intent than a devout pacifist.
As a general rule of thumb for things starting out, most Races view one another as disliked. It is highly recommended you do not reveal your origins i.e. stating you're a Soulborn to an Adept or Spiritualist if it's not to parties you can trust. This is the same approach that should be made for those associating with factions or families.
Danger Rating
In general, though, the Danger Rating is a one-to-five-star system, with one being the least dangerous, and five being the most. They scale to the average level of players.
- For ★ star rating, you probably won't even encounter combat and if you will, it'll be with something or someone that the average person is not going to be threatened by.
- ★★ stars have a bit more weight but are pretty non-lethal to the average person. You'll run into armed or 'dangerous' parties that can threaten you or harm you but are very unlikely to kill you.
- ★★★ is the middle ground where death and permanent threats become a possibility. Generally speaking, it only occurs if you're unlucky, really messed up, or didn't heed warnings.
- Reserved for only the tough is ★★★★ star rating. It is for experienced, developed characters to dabble with. High-risk, high-reward; four-star danger means you might die if your circumstances are screwed.
- The final rating is ★★★★★ star rating, where difficulty is maxed. These are the situations where even cream-of-the-crop player characters are expected to struggle or even perish. Lethality is extremely high in these scenarios.
The last note for this is that Danger Rating is usually discernable on arrival, or when you've already locked in, meaning once you see it in the case of [?] scenarios, you aren't going to easily run.
